  1. Brilliant, you’re right though – there was something magic about the actual logo they chose, and the startup sound of the Playstation. I do like the “Discs of Fun” version though, nice and clean.

      Lost to advertising history I’m afraid. According to this article at Edge (one of the first things that inspired me to write about the PlayStation logo), he was quietly killed after a smattering of disapproval from the Japanese arm of Sony and the final nail from Ken Kutaragi absolutely hating that it “wasn’t Gouraud shaded, it was flat shaded”.
